External Affairs
A large part of our organization is collaborating with those in our UCLA community, the local Southern California community, and in the larger national stage. RISHI collaborates with other clubs on campuses for various events ranging from social events to informational meetings. In collaboration with RISHI chapters throughout California, we help plan a convention not only allowing for a sharing of ideas on each chapter's initiatives and club structure, but also providing a platform for networking and socializing with other college students and guest speakers, including global health experts.
Presentations and Awards
Project RISHI members have presented their global health work at conferences such as UCLA’s Undergraduate Research Week, UCLA’s Community Service Commission (CSC) Service Impact Conference, and the International Youth Council. In recent years, our projects and initiatives have been recognized for their impact with the following awards:

-
In 2024, our Environment and Infrastructure Committee won “Most Impactful Poster” at the CSC Service Impact Conference.
-
In 2025, our Photovoice initiative received both the Dean’s Prize in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division at UCLA Undergraduate Research Week and First Place in Research at the CSC Service Impact Conference.

RISHI RISE
RISHI conferences are day-long events held annually and include multiple California chapters collaborating, networking, and sharing knowledge about past and future projects and steps for their chapters. During these conferences, our chapters work together to bring leaders of various fields to share their expertise to help improve our organization's work.
Community Involvement
To increase our presence in the Los Angeles community, our organization looks to volunteer and assist in the efforts of local non-profit organizations that are focused in various areas, from nature cleanups to homeless food services.
UCLA Club Collaborations
From socials to workshops, RISHI looks to collaborate with other UCLA clubs that are also working to improve global health and empowerment and have unique experiences we can learn from. In the past, we have collaborated with the UCLA Indian Student Union, Bhagat Puran Singh Health Initiative, UCLA GlobeMed, and many others.
